2017: A banner year for Nexcelle!
January 12, 2017
2017 marks another important year for Nexcelle, and I am pleased to be leading the company as its vision for a new generation of integrated propulsion systems (IPS) becomes a reality.
Confirmed as Nexcelle’s new President in December, I will be overseeing the joint venture as our nacelle systems demonstrate their capabilities in the two different aircraft applications.
The first is GE Aviation’s Passport engine for the Bombardier Global 7000, now in flight test after this business jet’s maiden takeoff last November; to be followed in the coming months by CFM International’s LEAP-1C, powering COMAC’s no. 1 C919 jetliner on its initial flight.
Having been an Executive Vice President at Nexcelle since 2014, I’ve seen how our two parent companies – Safran Nacelles and Middle River Aircraft Systems – have come together in developing these two nacelle systems. Their teams successfully brought their expertise to the design and development phases, and now are ready to support the flight test activities, production phase-in and entry-in-service.
Through regular postings on the Nexcelle blog and update stories on our www.nexcelle.com website, I will be keeping you apprised of our program activities in 2017, along with the joint venture’s presence at such key industry events as the Paris Air Show and the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition.
