Spotlighting our team in Shanghai
April 16, 2015
2015 is an important year for our integrated propulsion system (IPS) on the LEAP-1C engine for China’s COMAC C919 jetliner.
We are delivering hardware for the initial flight test aircraft – beginning with the no. 1 C919’s rollout later this year – and Nexcelle’s team at Shanghai is busy supporting our activities for the LEAP-1C IPS, drawing on the resources of our two parent companies: Aircelle (Safran) and GE Aviation’s Middle River Aircraft Systems.
In the coming months, we will be regularly highlighting our progress on the LEAP-1C IPS program. In the first story, posted April 9 on www.nexcelle.com, Nexcelle’s close working relationship with COMAC and engine manufacturer CFM International in Shanghai is described by Manuel Rodriguez, who is the Nexcelle LEAP-1C On-Site Nacelle Architect and Integration Leader.
A new story now available on www.nexcelle.com is a profile of Customer Relationship Manager Hu Xiaocao, who has been part of Nexcelle’s Shanghai team for the past two years. She represents a “new breed” of engineers in China that have gained valuable experience working or studying outside their home country, including involvement on programs such as Nexcelle’s LEAP-1C integrated propulsion system.
As Nexcelle’s first IPS becomes a reality on the C919, we will keep you informed of our accomplishments with such stories and updates.
